Imagination Library in Erie County

United Way of Buffalo & Erie County is proud to partner with Assemblymember Jonathan D. Rivera to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to members of our community in parts of Erie County (current eligible zip codes: 14201, 14204, 14213, 14215, 14218). The Imagination Library mails free books monthly to children from birth to age five, promoting early literacy and a lifelong love of reading. More than two decades of research have shown that this program is highly effective in improving home literacy environments and children’s attitudes towards reading.

All children between birth and age five who live in the following Erie County zip codes are eligible to enroll: 14201, 14204, 14213, 14215, 14218.

Enroll Your Child

How it Works

  • Sign Up: Parents or guardians can enroll their child online in just a few minutes.
  • Receive Books: Once enrolled, your child will receive a new, carefully selected book each month. *Please allow eight to twelve weeks for the first book to arrive.
  • Read Together: Enjoy the magic of reading with your child, knowing that you’re helping them develop critical early literacy skills.

Dolly Parton Quote: You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.

Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the preeminent early childhood book-gifting program in the world. For more information, please visit imaginationlibrary.com.
